Budget your calories into meal groups Counting calories can be tedious. Tracking every meal and every snack can make you go crazy and burn out. It also makes meal time burdensome and worsens our relationship with food and eating. I like to think that each of our bodies has its own built in calorie budget. The first step in finding out your budget is getting tested with Body Smart to find out exactly what that budget is. Once you know the budget, then it's a bit easier to break it down. Instead of mind-numbingly counting calories, I recommend having calorie allowances for each meal. For example, if my total calorie limit was 1800 calories for a day, I would split it up this way and then I only have to think of a meal at a time. Breakfast - 400 Snack - 100 Lunch - 500 Snack - 100 Dinner - 700 Rather than tracking each calorie I know that if I just keep each meal within those limits then I’m on track for the day. Taking out the tediousness can really help reduce getting burnt out on a healthy lifestyle.
